Julio activated from IL, Mastrobuoni DFA’d

Prior to this afternoon's game against the San Francisco Giants, 5:08PM PDT on FOX, the Seattle Mariners have reinstated outfielder Julio Rodriguez from the 7-day IL. Utilityman Miles Mastrobuoni has been designated for assignment as the corresponding move, leaving the Mariners 40-man roster at 39 players.

Rodriguez was placed on the IL back on July 2nd after taking a thrown ball to the rear of his head while running the bases against the Angels. Through 87 games, Julio has put together another solid season by slashing .259/.323/.424/.747 with 14 home runs and 12 stolen bases.

Julio is slotted in the second spot of the M's lineup tonight, hitting behind a familiar leadoff man in third baseman J.P. Crawford. The full lineup is below.
